Honhaar Scholarship 2026: Merit List, Required Documents and Selection Update

Phase 4 applications are open until 4 November 2026. PHEC has NOT announced an official merit list date yet. Any website or video giving you an exact merit list date today is only guessing. Merit lists will be published on the official portal after applications close, discipline-wise and institution-wise. We will update this page when an official date is announced.
Applied for the Honhaar Scholarship, or planning to apply before the deadline? The next question in every student’s mind is the merit list. How is merit calculated? Which documents decide your selection? And where exactly will the list appear? This guide answers all three questions with verified information only. We also tell you honestly what has not been announced yet, so you do not fall for fake dates and fake lists circulating on social media.

How the Merit Is Calculated
Honhaar selection is merit-based from start to finish. There is no entry test and no interview in this programme. Your past results do all the talking.
For new entrants, the formula is fixed and simple: Matric counts 30% and Intermediate counts 70%. Your combined percentage becomes your merit position. Before merit is even calculated, you must clear the minimum marks gate for your institution category:
- Public sector universities: 70% in Sciences, 65% in Arts
- Public MBBS and BDS: 80% marks
- Eligible federal and private universities: 70% in Sciences, 65% in Arts
- HED graduate colleges: 65% in Sciences, 60% in Arts
Clearing the minimum marks does not guarantee a scholarship. It only puts you in the race. Final selection depends on how high your combined merit stands against other applicants in your discipline and institution, because seats are limited and the top students take them first.
Students already studying in semester 2 to 8 are judged on their university record under the criteria given on the portal. An exact CGPA threshold for continuing students has not been published in any official source we could verify, so do not trust round numbers quoted by random pages. Read the criteria on the portal itself when you apply.
Required Documents: The Full Checklist
Your merit gets you shortlisted. Your documents get you selected. During verification, the team matches every paper against your online form, and one mismatch can end your case. Keep these ready:
- CNIC or B-Form: your own, valid, with a clear scan
- Punjab domicile: compulsory for this round
- Matric result card: original board result, not a college printout
- Intermediate result card: the marks that build 70% of your merit
- Proof of admission or enrollment: from your university or college
- Family income affidavit on e-stamp paper: showing income below the limit for your institution type
| Document | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| CNIC / B-Form | Proves your identity and links your portal account |
| Punjab domicile | Proves you belong to the Punjab quota |
| Matric result card | Builds 30% of your merit |
| Intermediate result card | Builds 70% of your merit |
| Admission / enrollment proof | Proves you are a genuine student of an eligible institution |
| Income affidavit (e-stamp) | Proves your family income is below the set limit |
Check the spellings. Your name and your father’s name should read the same on your CNIC, domicile and result cards. If they do not match, start the correction process now, not after the merit list.

How and Where Merit Lists Are Published
After applications close on 4 November 2026, PHEC prepares the merit lists and publishes them on the official portal: honhaarscholarship.punjabhec.gov.pk. The lists are arranged discipline-wise and institution-wise, so you look for your own subject at your own university or college, not one giant list for the whole province.
There is a second place to watch: your own institution. Universities also publish their own provisional and final merit lists and verification notices. In earlier rounds, for example, the Islamia University of Bahawalpur and UET Taxila published their Honhaar merit lists during 2026. So check both the portal and your university’s notice board, website and scholarship office.
Be honest with yourself about dates: no official merit list date for Phase 4 has been announced yet. Lists can only come after applications close and verification begins. Any page promising you a list “tomorrow” is guessing or, worse, trying to sell you something.
How to Check Your Status on the Portal
Your portal account is your personal window into the whole process. Checking your status takes two minutes:
- Open the official portal and click Login
- Enter the CNIC number and password you used at registration
- Open your application dashboard to see the current status
- Read any message or objection shown on your application carefully
- If a document objection appears, fix it within the given time through your university focal person
One thing students keep asking: there is no separate public page where you type a CNIC and see a result without logging in. Websites offering that are not official. Your account login is the real and only online way to check your status, apart from the lists your university publishes itself.

If Your Name Is Not on the List
Do not panic, and do not pay anyone who offers to “fix” your case. Work through these steps in order:
- Check your university’s own list: portal lists and institution lists do not always appear on the same day
- Check your status on the portal: an objection on a document is different from a rejection; objections can be cleared
- Meet your focal person: every institution has one for Honhaar; take your original documents with you
- Compare your merit honestly: if your combined percentage is well below the closing merit of your discipline, the list is probably correct
- Keep your documents ready: selected students are called for verification, and seats that free up go to the next students in merit order
The most common fixable problem is a document mismatch: a name spelled one way on the CNIC and another way on a result card, or an income affidavit that does not match the category you applied under. These are clerical issues, and your focal person is exactly the person appointed to resolve them.
What Happens After Selection
Selection is not the finish line; it is the start of verification. Here is the road ahead:
- Your university verifies your original documents against your online application
- Once verified, your tuition fee is paid by the programme directly to your institution: you do not collect cash
- The scholarship continues for the full duration of your undergraduate degree, as long as you maintain the academic standing the programme requires
- You cannot hold another government scholarship for the same degree at the same time
- Hostel, transport and living costs remain your own: the scholarship covers the tuition fee only
And one last honest note for new applicants: if you have not applied yet, you still have time. Our Honhaar Scholarship Phase 4 apply guide walks you through the full form, step by step, before the 4 November 2026 deadline.
